La cadena de televisión estadounidense CBS, comenzará a emitir sus contenidos en su canal online patrocinado, que será distribuido por 10 empresas colaboradoras. El canal, llamado CBS Interactive Audience Network, permite a los internautas ver gratis online series como CSI o Supervivientes.
Las empresas que emitirán el canal CBS son AOL, MSN, Comcast, Veoh, Brightcove, Joost, CNET Networks, Sling Media, Netvibes y Bebo. CBS podría también llegar a un próximo acuerdo con MySpace para la emisión de contenidos. Los contenidos online ya habrán sido emitidos previamente en Estados Unidos, y sólo se podrán ver en ese país, a excepción de algunos contenidos breves y programas deportivos completos.
CBS ha dejado de lado a YouTube en la distribución de sus contenidos. La empresa matriz de esta cadena, Viacom, ha estado negociando con News Corp., propietaria de MySpace, para llevar a cabo una estrategia contra la creciente popularidad de YouTube.
